Your Best Start for Seeds and Cuttings. The Super Sprouter 4 Tray Seedling Heat Mat gently warms seedling and cutting roots for strong, fast growth. This mat warms up to four standard 10 in. x 20 in. propagation trays at once. It offers more consistent heating with fewer hot spots than other heat mats, and is water resistant. The Super Sprouter 4 Tray Seedling Heat Mat is designed to warm the temperature of the rooting area approximately 10-20 F above the ambient air temperature. For best results, locate on a counter top or shelf instead of a cold and drafty floor. Using a clear dome with your seed tray will help maintain temperature and humidity. You can purchase a thermostat separately if you would like exact temperature control. If you would like to slightly reduce the temperature of your growing media, you can place your tray on two pencils lifting the tray about 3/8 inch off the mat. Be careful not to expose your seedlings and cuttings to direct sunlight or artificial light that is too strong. Fluorescent fixtures work great as an artificial light source.

The Super Sprouter Digital Heat Mat Thermostat electronically controls the Super Sprouter Seedling Heat Mat, allowing gardeners to dial in and maintain optimal rooting temperatures. This thermostat lets you program in excellent temperature conditions for growing seedlings faster. To get growing, stick probe into the soil about 1.5 inch. Plug your seedling heat mat into the thermostat, then plug the thermostat into a secure wall outlet away from water. Turn on thermostat and set to desired growing temperature. The Super Sprouter Digital Heat Mat Thermostat has a temperature control range of 68-108 F. If it is on for more than 4 hours while connected to the heat mat and your desired temperature cannot be reached, cover seedling tray with a humidity dome or use an insulated surface to achieve and maintain higher temperatures.
